BEHIND THE CONCEPT
The Archipen Collection draws inspiration from the artistic language of Ukrainian-American sculptor Olexander Archipenko, whose calm lines and thoughtful balance between mass and empty space reshaped modern sculpture. Designer Kateryna Sokolova interprets these principles into furniture that appears simple in form yet full of quiet dynamism. Archipenko was the first to treat “void” as a constructive element, and this idea informs the Archipen Lounge Chair. The intentional open space between the backrest and armrests creates a deliberate architectural gap, adding lightness, rhythm, and a sense of gentle movement to the piece.
